This role is essential to the successful execution of Meadows Marathon. This role requires someone with an eye for detail and the ability to think practically. This person must be willing to dedicate a significant amount of their time.

This role involves thinking about and coordinating all the practicalities of the event including organising water, liaising with the university on the route, and ensuring the event has everything it needs to succeed. This person should be highly efficient, logically minded and willing to take on ad hoc duties.

The Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and delivering a marketing and publicity strategy. They should devise new and innovative ways of engaging students. They liaise with event coordinators to determine the publicity requirements for each event, and work with sports and societies coordinator to develop publicity materials and schedules for events organised by other groups. They should ensure that a consistent and professional brand and message is presented across all channels.

Meadows Marathon (MM) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the successful organisation of Meadows Marathon. They oversee/manage the whole of the MM committee. They engage with a wide variety of external parties including the Edinburgh Council, University, and emergency services. They ensure that the MM committee has a clear to do list with delegated responsibilities and completion deadlines. They must also oversee the logistical organisation of the event, recruitment of volunteers and registration of runners. Additionally, they must ensure that a budget (developed with the Finance Coordinator) and risk assessment are completed and proposed to the Trustees in a timely manner. They must be willing to dedicate a significant amount of their time, particularly in the immediate run-up to the event.

The MM Vice Coordinators work closely with the MM Coordinator to ensure the smooth organisation of Meadows Marathon. They oversee/manage the whole of the MM committee. They engage with a wide variety of external parties including the Edinburgh Council, University, and emergency services. They liaise with the other members of the committee to ensure that they are carrying out their tasks and helping where necessary. They must work with the MM Coordinator on the logistics of the event, recruitment of volunteers and registration of runners. They must be willing to dedicate a significant amount of their time, particularly in the immediate run-up to the event.

The Registration Officer is in charge of the registration process from start to finish. They will take control of setting up the online platform, manage this platform and plan on the day registration. This role requires someone who is organised and efficient and has a friendly manner as this person will be the main point of contact for all participants. This person should be willing to check emails/messages regularly - at least every two days.

The Volunteers Officer will recruit Volunteers for the day as well as for the preparation sessions. This person should be highly organised and engaging and able to speak in public. This role gets busier near the time of the event but would be required to help with additional ad hoc tasks in the lead up.
